This costume was a birthday present for my son.
The costume looks great but the material is incredibly flimsy.
Pair that with the HUGE belt that fit the FATHER of the size 8 boy it was supposed to have fit.
Needless to say, the belt - being very heavy and of a sticky rubbery material - just tore that flimsy costume to shreds within minutes.
I tried to call the vendor but they claim they're having phone trouble. I sent them an email and they asked for more info on September 30 and never got back to me.
I've notified Amazon and I'm returning the costume on Monday.
Guess we'll have to find one at Walmart.Costume just okay, but seller met my needs

We bought the mask, ring, and accessories somewhere else. When we opened the package and pulled out the ring and mask I laughed. Cheap! And for the Small 4-6 the mask is way too big! The costume itself is also on the big side but it's nice thick material. The light-up chest thing is pretty cool... A negative I feel I have to mention: Beware of the velcro touching any other part of the costume, it pulls, snags it and essentially ruins it. Kind of a bummer. In a matter of two days there are quite a few obvious spots. Also ended up just cutting the shoe covers off, they never laid quite right. Also, bought this somewhere else cheaper, just fyiterrible quality!

Our daughter is a tall 3 year old and we ordered a size 4/6 which is a bit roomy, but I wouldn't go smaller. It is perfect so that she can wear it now and will also have room to grow. My 6 year old grandson asked for this as his "Santa" gift. After reading all of the reviews here, I ordered a large size 14 that is more like a size 6 or 8. Honestly, the quality is very poor. The jacket is thin and see through, with plastic lapels. The buckles are indeed thin plastic, and the belt is super tiny and may not fit his waist. The sash is short also, however there are dime sized pieces of velcro inside the jacket at neck and waist to which the sash attaches poorly. The hat has a small cap...I am trying to stretch it over a baseball cap as I write this review. I did not open the package containing the beard. He also owns a Peter Pan and a Jack Sparrow costume which is of very high quality that you would expect from Disney that his mom purchased at resale for less than $10. Shame on Disney for capitalizing on POTC by offering this shoddy product at an inflated price. Unless it goes on sale for $20 or less.....DO NOT BUY IT. Got this for my son for Halloween since he's big into firefighters at the moment. Figured that since it had an award for quality that it would be comparable to the $50 one I've seen as well. Especially since it was originally priced at $60.
Unfortunately, the material is the cheap, thin polyester-type stuff that tears easily and the patch was glued on, not sewed on (it fell off literally in the first 5 minutes my son was wearing it). Hopefully shouldn't be too big of a deal since I can hopefully sew it back on for him, but for $30, I expected better quality.
The item says it comes with an adjustable helmet, but I originally received only the costume without the helmet. In Dress Up America's defense, when I contacted them about the issue, they shipped a helmet immediately (not adjustable, though) at no extra charge.
It's not a horrible costume, but the award and the price lead you to believe it's a high quality costume. We'll be lucky if this lasts...Don't get suckered into buying this...
I originally intended to buy the Aeromax fire fighter costume for my child, but could not find it anywhere in his size (4/6). This one caught my eye, and since the page stated it was "award winning" I thought this might be a suitable replacement. I was wrong.
First off, instead of being a durable cotton outfit (like the Aeromax) this one is made of a thin polyester material. Not too realistic looking. The "reflector" stripes are just brightly colored strips of polyester and have no reflective capability (as the Aeromax does). The embroidered patch was not sewn on but glued. My son managed to pull it off in about 30 minutes. And the helmet is not adjustable (as the web page states) but is a one-size-fits-all.
Obviously, I was very, very disappointed in this purchase. It's nowhere near worth the $30 they are charging. You'd probably find a similar outfit at some place like Target or Walmart for less than $10.
Buyer beware...Firefighter costume

This is a licensed product made absolutely as cheaply as possible. The shirt is TINY. Ordered a medium (size 7-8) for my son who wears a size 6, thinking he could use it for a couple years. The shirt is so tiny it hits midway between chest and belly button. I'm not sure how to describe the plastic the belt buckles are made of... but it is so thin it is bendable - one of the buckles you could wad it up in your hand. Due to construction the costume is not washable so, unless your kid prefers the look of authentic pirate dirt and grime, this is a one-use costume. Even if you could wash it, it really wouldn't hold up much longer than one use anyway. It was a disappointment for us, beyond the size issue, because my son loves to dress in costumes and uses all in his collection many times over.my 4 year old loves it
My four year old loves this costume. He had a very cheap pirate costume that ripped to shreds. This one is definitely better quality, but still not what I had hoped. His only complaint is that the belt buckles are made of very thin plastic and on the first day one of them ripped. I was able to glue it back together, but I'm not sure for how long. We bought the costume this month (June- as a reward) and he jumps all around sword fighting. He says he wants to wear it for Halloween and I think for the most part it should last until then.

I bought these dinosaur jammies as a halloween costume, but I am also going to end up using them as pajamas, too!! They are well made and very comfortable. I am 5'6'', and the fit is baggy, especially around the middle. I thought the tail would sag, but it actually hangs quite nice and realistically! Boys love to dress up, so it will get worn over and over. Costume purchased for boy who wears a size 4 - this ran on the big side and belt would not fit him. The shirt is front heavy, so it kept pulling down and there wasn't a button on the back at the neck, so it was open allowing it to pull down in the front even farther. My youngest, who wears a size 4 got aggrivated, but my boy who wears a 6/7 loves it!Nice costume...

This was a good value, but the sizing was a little off. The top was very small across the shoulders and the neck hole was small. The bottoms were fine, but the belt fit me (the mom) and I'm a size 8! I wore this to the HP7 part 2 opening night and it was hot. The material is fleece and it gets super hot really fast. It would be awesome to have for Halloween, because Halloween night tends to be colder than a night in the middle of July.
The green on the inside is actually just two strips of fabric sewed in on one side only, and I thought they looked kind of dumb like that. I guess if you wanted to you could sew the other side down. There isn't a wand pocket, so I cut a tiny slit in the green part to fit my wand.
The Slytherin crest on the left side is like an iron on patch, so it is good quality, but when it's on the fleece it wants to curl itself up because the fleece isn't strong enough to hold it down. That wasn't a huge problem, just a tiny annoyance.
The little clasp-thing that is used to hold the robe on you is kind of complicated and difficult to use. Also, it comes off completely, so be sure you don't lose it!
Overall, I think...Use for a Halloween Costume and LOVED IT!
It was warm, it was adorable and it was perfect for us! My sons went as Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy and these robes were perfect! They are easily washable as well. It came with a clasp to place on the robe to hold the top closed, however, we did not use it. If you've seen the movies, then you know that the official robes do not have any color on the inside of the hood. But I actually liked the green! It's obviously not an "official" Hogwart's robe, but it was definitely worth the money spent for my kid's costumes! They felt fantastic and we have amazing pictures to last us a lifetime!Decent costume
I was pleasantly surprised to find that this robe was flannel (maybe I didn't read the description closely enough) and that the hood was pointed, like a wizard's hat.
On a negative note, I was also surprised to find that the inside of the robe was not fully lined; there is only about a 4-5 inch wide strip of green lining along each side of the opening. The hood is lined, which is nice, but for the price (which is rather expensive, considering it's just the robe with no accessories), they sure did skimp on some fabric.

I'm pretty disappointed in the quality of the costume, unfortunately we don't have time to replace this before the local kids' Halloween events.
The "molded" armor isn't molded. It's just flat. It's also completely different in shape/style from the image. The knee pieces are just flat orange chunks of thin foam, with a bit of 3-d molding, but they were not cut to shape like the parts that are shown in the picture.
Finally, the set we were sent was clearly packed inappropriately and the vinyl belt piece had fused to the armor and peeled off some of the color from it when I took it out of the package.Loved by third grader!
My third grader absolutely loves this costume, as evidenced by the fact that we ordered in August and Halloween is in October. The helmet and armor on the costume make it seem much more real, and he's engaged in lots of pretend play and home movie making since its arrival. He is an average sized 8 year old (50% height) and the medium was a better fit than the large.Not as pictured or described but quite different
The quality of the costume is mostly the same as similar Halloween costumes, so if you have purchased other costumes alike, you've know what I mean.
The real surprise is the fact that, despite of the pictures or what the description says, the molded armor parts ain't molded. They are made of a different color of fabric, to make a difference between the jumpsuit and the armor parts. The most notorious difference are the knee pieces. They are just flat rectangular foam stripes, not even remotely similar to those on the pictures. The molded parts on the arms are also flat, and not detailed at all like in the pics.
Honestly, for the same price, you can make your own custom costume. If you pay someone to make your own costume, probably you'll get better (and less expensive) results.> Click to See Editorial Reviews

Our daughter LOVES dinosaur train, and was overjoyed to get this costume.
Overall, we're very pleased with it. We didn't have any problem with the sizing (given that we bought it for dress up)--our daughter is almost 40" tall and 37 pounds, and it fits her well. The construction of the wings is really clever. Our daughter loves that she can "flap" her wings. She is only two (if you are looking at sizing, note that she is a VERY tall two year old--see her dimensions above) so she was a bit confused about the headpiece. But once she got a look in the mirror, she got it. The material is a bit flimsy and "costumey", but again, because we were buying it for dress up, it didn't matter so much. It's durable enough for our purposes.
An irate aside: WHY IS THIS TOY LABELED FOR BOYS?! Girls can't dress up like a pterosaur? Tiny is even a female character! What the heck? This kind of needless toy gendering makes me seriously angry. I'm so glad she can't read yet!Great Halloween Costume!

First of all, I am not familiar with convicts/prisoners wearing caps like the one provided. Even the ones who work in the kitchen are more likely to wear hair nets than a cap like the one provided. Secondly, the costume is made out of a very thin, silky material which is not really ideal for cool Halloween nights. We had to put running pants under my son's costume which took away from the outfit. The fact that it is silky and very new looking doesn't come across as very authentic for a prisoner's outfit. Due to the type of material used, it is not very durable especially because it would not wash well and if dried, would likely shrink. The inmate number tag that the costume comes with is made of paper and needs to be pinned on. Again, not very authentic. They could have sewn a patch on pretty inexpensively. All in all, the costume did the job, but I feel a little more time and effort could have been put into the quality of the costume even if it had to cost a little more...Cute, but very cheap quality
My 9-year-old son wore this costume for Halloween. In addition to the shirt, pants and hat that come in the kit, we added "razor stubble" and a couple of scars to his face with black eye liner, plus he already had a pair of toy handcuffs which he wore on one wrist. He was the only prisoner we saw this year at both his school Halloween parade and when out trick-or-treating, so it was unique in that respect. However, he won't be wearing it again. The costume material is very poor quality. I thought it was made of nyon, but the information states polyester. The pants and shirt "ran" like nylons wherever the material was pulled/stretched, such as the thigh area, in between the shoulders, and arm seams. There wasn't really any way to repair it, so we pitched it at the end of the night. We've had cheap costumes before, but not any that couldn't be worn a second time. My son obvious is a Hawkeye fan. Thought this would be fun for a 7-8 yr old. The helmet gets its wear... all over, inside, outside, and has been pretty sturdy. The shirt, well, that is another story. It started falling apart after maybe 2 washes. Ripped out in both arm pits. And it wasn't that my son was too big for it, he is just an average sized boy, the shirt was loose on him, but still unthreaded and fell apart. It's exactly as pictured! Before getting this I had made a cape for my five year-old daughter with ties but it was too narrow and heavy. This one is light and wraps around her so she can be much more dramatic. The only down side is that it slips down her back just enough that the velcro scratches her neck. If we're playing super heroes for an extended period of time she switches to the old cape because the velcro annoys her so much. When that happens I of course have to trade with her and the neck is child size so I get the pleasure of the velcro under more pressure. I purchased this item for my 7 year old son's birthday. It arrived within specified time frame and we did not fully inspect the contents of package before wrapping and giving this item to our son. Costume is made of cheap material and was torn on the leg out of package. The proton pack and blaster are both inflatables and the gun had multiple air leaks and would not hold air. As 7 year old do not understand return policies and the amount of time it would take I decided not to return item and made alterations so he could still get his use out of this item. Also, I had no faith a replacement would be of better quality. This costume would be good for single use only, not for playing dress up if you happen to receive one without defects.
