I'm a petite woman that needed a Spiderman costume for a dance number in our annual recital. I kept seeing costumes for very large men. Then I stumbled upon this one. I had to gamble on it because I couldn't get a straight answer from anyone regarding length. I'm glad I did because it fits fine. Its still HUGE on me, but the muscles disguise that well. I had to sew a basting stitch from lower leg to ankle and lower arm to wrist to make them look fitted, ALTHOUGH that could have just been safety pinned. BTW THE MASK doesn't go long enough down the neck so A LOT of skin shows. I had to buy a separate mask that has a long neck line and goes down chest. I bought it for my son in a small, he is pretty tall for his age and it was a little big so just keep in mind that it runs about 1 size bigger. I tightened up the boot covers with the lace and it really looks like the pants are tucked into the boots! My son loved it and it looks like a real uniform. The jump suit has one velcro closer at the top. The fabric is very light, it reminds me of shiny weed blocking fabric. The X on the front is just screened on, in the picture it looks stitched on. The hat reminds me of the old 80's costumes, it's half a plastic form with an elastic to hold the back on and it has clear sun glasses molded to it. I would send it back but my son thinks it's great, I think it looks cheap and the picture is very misleading but he's the one who has to where it.Hugely disappointed!!!!
The racer X costume we purchased (Rubie's) arrived within the 5-7 day timeframe; thank you. However just as the previous customer stated the costume that was sent was not the quality costume advertised or worth the $25+ (don't remember, no receipt sent) we payed. We are hugely disappointed and feel robbed, my son (9) helped pick out this costume due to it's detail and "cool look" (like leather) but even he can visibly recognize the difference in the helmet (covers only front of head/clear glasses glued), no ridges on arms, thin cheap made-from-nerf material that was sent to us in it's place. My son weighs less than 50lbs, and size 8 slims are still big on him. When we tried the costume on at home, it was tight on him. I wanted to exchange for a larger size 10 and they did not have in stock. My son wants to be a pirate for Halloween, not some other character they have in stock in a size 10. I told customer service I would exchange for what I purchased, OR please eturn my money. They would do neither. The vest is RED not purple as pictured. My son loves purple and that is the reason I picked this vampire costume over others that are better quality. My son was really set on going as a rapist this last halloween, but we waited too long to get to the costume store and so we were stuck with this or Darth Vader. Once I explained what a pimp does, he chose this one and we couldn't be happier. He wears it around the house all the time! Only downside was that we had to explain to him he couldn't wear blackface that came with the costume because that would be offensive. You would think the company would know not to include that makeup in 2008...

This costume has caused our family all sorts of confusion. We dressed up our son in this pimp suit and took him trick-or-treating downtown. It was...PIMPS "R" US
So glad I can raise my children by buying costumes that encourage the kind of life I hope they get to live. I also got the junkie costume complete with needle marks and syringes. It's really perfect--I couldn't have dressed my son as a little pimp any better. I think there should be an option to purchase this as a package with at least 3 girls' costumes, such as Child Miss Behaved Costume (complete with jeweled handcuffs!), Child's Purrty Kitty Costume (Size: X-Small 4-6), and Child's French Maid Costume (Size: Medium 8-10). I had to order those separately for the girls next door. My only real complaint about this costume is that it only lasted for one wear. He lost the hat and the knees of the pants tore the first time he tripped on the Kitty's tail. I feel like the kids could have gotten a lot more mileage out of this dress-up game. I bought this costume for our upcoming Disney cruise pirate night for my 10 year old son. He loved it when he saw it, so I decided to take a chance. I'm so glad I did! It fits great and looks SO cool on! One thing is that the eye holes are not cut in perfect ovals to fit a person's eye, so it's a little difficult for him to see. I may need to trim them out a bit. (mask is a thin rubber) Also the back of the mask goes all the way down like in the front. I was afraid it would be cut out in the back where you could see the person's hair wearing it, but it doesn't. The rubber goes down to about the base of the skull in the back. The tunic fits great and the details are super cool on it. I also bought him a cheapy plastic sword at Walmart and some grey/green halloween face paint to sponge on him like in the picture. He's so excited. This is a great costume for the price!!!Mom
