These things actually make you fly!!!
We ordered these capes for my grandson who is 4 years old. They arrived quickly and as described and we loved the size and soft feel of the crushed velour and the sleek lining which is so nicely finished that it makes the cape reversible (more about that in a minute). The hook and loop closure also works well and makes it easy for him to take off and put on by himself.
We were a little disappointed in the felt emblems that adorn these capes, but part of that is that we hadn't fully realized how focused our little one (Jack) is on Batman and Superman, so before we presented these capes, we made the decision to change two of the emblems. We made Batman, Superman and Spiderman emblems out of felt, and sewed them over the existing emblems. Since Jack also likes Pirates, we decided to keep the black "Pirate" emblem and sewed Batman onto the lining side of that cape. What a big success! We spent the week going to restaurants with Batman and Superman because Jack wouldn't take...
High quality, great value
This is a nice, high quality product. I gave the set of three capes to my 3.5 year old son for Christmas. He and his older sisters use them frequently for pretend play. I like that they do not feature "characters" (as it leaves more to the imagination) and are fairly simple, so they can be adapted to many different play scenarios. They are satiny smooth on the underside and velour on the outside, and close with velcro at the neck. I highly recommend providing these as well as a variety of hats for imaginative play for preschool-age boys.
