I originally ordered this in medium for my grandson, who wears a size 7, using the size guide. When it came the sizes on the package were different. The small is really size 2-4 little boys, medium 4-6 boys, large 7-10, supposedly. I finally ordered the large and the vest was still almost too small! My grandson is not skinny but not fat, maybe a size 8 in some shirts. The chaps were fine but not too large at all and he is not a really tall kid so these would be too short for most average 9-10 year olds. Otherwise, the set is darling and looks well made. Customer service worked with me for the exchange but it still cost me shipping both ways.

The first set I received was the wrong size. I had ordered a large and received a small. The company was very helpful in returning the small one and sending the correct size. They had the new set to me within 2 days! I bought this for my 5 year old son for Christmas. Chaps were the only thing he really asked for. He was so excited when he opened the package and realized what it was! The leather is very durable and it is very cute!

There was a huge mix up with the size that was sent (also took 3 weeks to get it). It was ordered as a Christmas gift for my grandson. Because it had to be exchanged he didn't get the gift untill 2 weeks after Christmas, and then it wasn't the exact item that was ordered. I had ordered the set with stars and was sent the set with longhorns, but at least it fit so he was a happy little cowboy.
